TV 2 gets a brand-new studio for news and sports news

Tonight at 21.00 pm TV 2 launches it's brand new and unique news and sports studio from Media City in Bergen.

This is a day we have been looking forward to for a long time, and many have worked hard and intensely to get everything in place for the premiere tonight. The special thing is that we have placed the editorial office and the desk in the middle of our new studio. We want greater proximity to viewers, and in our news and sports areas on TV 2 and TV 2 Nyhetskanalen - we will now work more closely on the actual news production. News broadcasts on television have traditionally taken place in a closed and inaccessible studio. Now we want to present the broadcasts where we sit and work with our journalism, says news editor Karianne Solbrække in TV 2.

The new studio is full of new technical solutions, and with moving and remote-controlled cameras on rails.

It also maintains our desire for a high degree of automation during production. And together with the company Electric Friends, we have developed new camera rails that can be built into the floor and made completely new camera tripods. There will be a total of seven cameras in the studio, where six are on rails, says Jens Cornelius Knudsen who is production director at TV 2.

TV 2 is the majority owner of Electric Friends and thus continues with the development of new production solutions within TV production as TV 2 has done with many other companies such as Vizrt, Vimond, Mosart and Wolftech.

TV 2's internal graphics and programming resources have also created a new graphics solution that will give the news and sports news a flexible presentation solution.

Our news and sports broadcasts also come with new vignettes and music, so we get a new look. At the same time, our viewers will recognise TV 2 in colour and content. We look forward to showing it on Sunday, and of course, hope it will be well received. It is our viewers we live by, says Karianne Solbrække.

Four months ago, TV 2 had its last news and sports broadcast from the old studios at Nøstet in Bergen. Sunday at 18.30 the last broadcast will be TV 2's premises in Karl Johansgate in Oslo. Now all news and sports broadcasts will be broadcast from Media City in Bergen until new studios are also ready in TV 2's new premises in Diagonale in Oslo.
